Public Participation Plan (PPP)

The Public Participation Plan (PPP) guides public involvement activities conducted by the Jackson MPO as it relates to the transportation planning process. The purpose of the PPP is to encourage active public participation of various transportation stakeholders in the Jackson Urbanized Area (JUA) in identifying and commenting on transportation issues, programs and projects at every stage of the transportation process. The PPP is a living document and is continually reviewed for possible revisions as needed to improve the participation process. Federal and State regulations require an MPO to develop and maintain a PPP in order to carry out a comprehensive, continuing and coordinated transportation planning process. It is the goal of the Jackson MPO to provide an open and inviting participation process that allows the public the opportunity to voice concerns and offer suggestions about transportation related issues, while helping to educate the public about the technical aspects of transportation planning.

The most recent version of the Public Participation Plan (PPP) is available below in both .pdf and .rtf formats. For more information about the Public Participation Plan please contact Jackson MPO Staff, by email at or by phone at (601)-981-1511.
