Delta Regional Authority (DRA)

The Central Mississippi Planning and Development District (CMPDD) partners with the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) to provide targeted support for economic development and infrastructure improvements in eligible counties and communities. Through this partnership, CMPDD helps member governments and organizations access DRA funding and technical assistance to promote regional growth and improve quality of life.

CMPDD staff work directly with communities to identify projects that meet DRA program objectives, which often focus on job creation, workforce development, transportation and infrastructure improvements, and business expansion. Projects may include:

  • Infrastructure development to support economic growth (roads, water, sewer, utilities)
  • Workforce training and education programs
  • Small business development and expansion
  • Community revitalization initiatives

As the regional facilitator, CMPDD assists with project planning, grant applications, and administration, ensuring that resources are used effectively to support long-term economic development in the region.

The Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) complements the States’ Economic Development Assistance Program as a primary investment tool for DRA. Investments support projects that address flood control, basic public infrastructure, and transportation infrastructure improvements.

  • Grant Award Minimum: $500,000
  • Grant Award Maximum: $2,000,000

The CIF application cycle is typically open year-round.
