Elderly & Disabled Medicaid Waiver: 2026 Update

Search News

The Elderly & Disabled Medicaid Waiver (E&D Waiver) is a statewide program that provides in-home help to qualified Medicaid beneficiaries, so they can stay at home safely.

Who qualifies

  • Age 21 or older
  • Qualify through SSI Medicaid or 300% of SSI Medicaid
  • Need help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, walking or transferring, or with tasks like laundry, light housekeeping, errands and community outings

For applicants who don’t qualify through SSI Medicaid, the 2026 monthly income limit for Waiver Medicaid is $2,982 before deductions. This limit applies only to Waiver applicants and is reviewed each year. All other Medicaid income and asset limits still apply.

Services available

Case management, personal care attendant, in-home respite, adult day care, home-delivered meals, environmental safety services, medication management, extended home health (skilled nursing, physical therapy or speech therapy), community transition services and institutional respite.

How it works

A registered nurse and a licensed social worker assess each referred client, submit services to the Division of Medicaid for approval, and then manage and coordinate care. Starting in fiscal year 2027, CMPDD will have 23 case management teams with capacity for 2,578 clients across all seven counties we serve.

Referrals go through CMPDD’s Mississippi Access to Care (MAC) Center, which handles intake and a phone screening for the waiting list. People are assessed from the waiting list in order, starting with the oldest referral date.

Contact

Call the MAC Center at 1-844-822-4622, or contact Teresa Burrell-Shoto, RN, Case Management Director, at 601-855-5914 or tburrell@cmpdd.org.
