A Congestion Management Process is an analytical approach used to evaluate transportation system performance and identify strategies to reduce congestion and improve mobility for people and goods. The Congestion Management Process examines the regional transportation network, identifies congested corridors, and recommends strategies to minimize congestion.
As a Transportation Management Area, an urbanized area with a population over 200,000, CMPDD is required to maintain a Congestion Management Process as part of its ongoing transportation planning process.
