The LWCF program provides 50/50 matching reimbursable grants for development of public outdoor recreation areas and facilities. Two types of projects are available for funding assistance.
- Combination Project: Acquisition of property and recreational development of same property
- Development Project: Recreational development of existing public property
Depending on appropriations each year the grant amounts vary but usually have a minimum grant award of $25,000 and the maximum grant award of $500,000.
