Federal MAP-21 Transportation Bill Goes into Effect

On July 6, 2012, the new transportation bill, Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21), was signed into law. MAP-21 went into effect on October 1, 2012 and is the first long-term highway authorization bill since the previous legislation enacted in 2005.
