Community and Economic Development
The CMPDD recognizes one of its main responsibilities is to improve infrastructure, living environments, and economic well-being in all municipalities and counties. Whether it is water and wastewater improvements, a new playground or industrial park, the CMPDD assists member governments address these needs through various funding opportunities, the provision of vital data, and the development of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. Further, the CMPDD serves as the Economic Development District, as designated by the Economic Development Administration (EDA), and provides on-the-ground, in-the-community assistance to its member governments as it relates to EDA. The District serves in a similar role for the Delta Regional Authority.
The District also provides multiple sources of aid to counties and cities with the financing of public buildings. Utilizing State law, CMPDD has established a public improvement company to assist governments with a lease purchase plan.
