The Central Mississippi Planning and Development District (CMPDD), which is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties, invites you to review and provide your comments regarding the Draft 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan that has been developed for the Jackson Urbanized Area.
One of the responsibilities of the MPO in carrying out the Federally-mandated transportation planning process is to prepare a Long Range Transportation Plan for the area expected to become “urbanized” within a forecasted 25-year timeframe. The development of the 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan sets a vision for the course of actions that are needed to meet the future transportation needs of all modes of transportation in the metro-area including motorized transportation, public transportation, non-motorized transportation, commercial motor vehicles, as well as other modes of travel for the next 25-years. The MPO encourages you to review the Draft 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan and provide your feedback.
The 45-day comment period being held regarding the draft plan begins September 28, 2015, and concludes November 12, 2015. Copies of the draft plan are available for review during the comment period Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at CMPDD, 1170 Lakeland Drive, Jackson, MS, or online any time at www.cmpdd.org/public-notices.
