Recently CMPDD received supplemental funding from Mississippi Department of Human Services/Division of Aging and Adult Services due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The purpose of this funding was to allow Mississippi Access to Care (MAC) Centers the opportunity to utilize assistive technology as a supplementary source of communication.
The Jackson MAC Center has initiated the “Stay Connected Project” to address the concern of senior isolation. Long term care facilities located in the Central and Southwest Mississippi regions were provided the opportunity to participate in the Project and receive Samsung Tablets for residents. The Samsung Tablets will be utilized to provide virtual solutions for residents to communicate with family and friends. For more information contact Dr. Chelsea B. Crittle, Aging Program Director at 601-981-1516.
