In February, the Jackson Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) approved $32.7 million in Federal Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) funding for metro-area transportation projects aimed at reducing congestion and improving the safety and efficiency of the regional transportation system. Delta Regional Authority (DRA) has announced the 2019 round of State’s Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP) investments. SEDAP investments may be used to fund projects for basic public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, business development (with focus on entrepreneurship), and workforce development. At its November meeting, the Jackson Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (MPO’s) Policy Committee approved a series of performance targets in conformance with new federal legislation rules.
